Welcome and induction resources
To ensure you have the best start to your career in public education it is important you complete the induction activities within the first three months of your employment.
The online package is available to all new and existing staff on the Portal under the 'Professional Learning' tab and induction support materials are available on the HRMweb.

Hints and tips to start your career
Getting settled into your new role as a teacher or school psychologist in a public school can be challenging. To help you during this time we have collected a range of ideas and suggestions from experienced teachers who wished they had had this information when they first started. Select the ones you feel will best suit your needs and those of your students.
Commonly used acronyms
Schools are complex places and often programs and support services are abbreviated to try and simplify things, but new staff can find this very confusing! Download the list of commonly used acronyms and keep it nearby to refer to when necessary.
Professional associations
There are many State and national associations providing professional support to teachers and school psychologists. Belonging to an association provides you with a network of contacts as well as information on the latest developments in your area of specialisation. Download a copy of relevant associations or visit the ‘Members’ section of the Professional Teaching Council of Western Australia’s website for a more comprehensive list.
