Country Teaching Program

The Country Teaching Program offers you opportunities for advancement and leadership roles and to fast-track your permanent employment status.

Approximately 120 rural schools are part of the program. Many of these schools are in small, and sometimes challenging communities.

If you participate in the program, you will receive:

  • permanent employment status subject to two years continuous service
  • double transfer points after two years in rural schools
  • financial incentives of between $5,000 and $12,500 a year depending on the location.
