School Psychologists are bound by law to maintain and respect confidentiality when collecting, storing and disseminating information. All school psychologists maintain appropriate processes for safe keeping of all records. Limits to confidentiality apply when the information reveals a risk of harm to the student or any other person and property, and when information is requested from a court order. Prior to intervention, students and parents should be informed of limits to confidentiality.
School Psychologists work in collaboration with parents and can interpret and explain information related to individual cases.
