The Schools of Special Educational Needs provide support for students with disabilities and diverse learning needs through teams of teachers working from the School of Special Educational Needs: Disability, School of Special Educational Needs: Sensory (Vision Education Service and the Western Australian Institute for Deaf Education) and the School of Medical and Mental Health. These services collaborate to provide effective service provision to school communities.

The School of Special Educational Needs: Disability is committed to inclusive schooling and the provision of effective classroom programs that value the diversity of students.

School of Special Educational Needs: Medical and Mental Health provides educational support for students whose medical or mental health prevents them from successfully participating in their enrolled school programs. prevents them from successfully participating in another educational program.

The School of Special Educational Needs: Sensory provides educational support to students with vision impairment, deafness and deafblindness.

Spinal Rehabilitation Seminar

This seminar aims to provide teachers and education assistants with a better understanding of the educational and physical needs of children with various spinal conditions including spina bifida and spinal injuries. Participants will gain medical knowledge, information on available support services and strategies for working with students in the school environment.
