Smart Steps: Engaging Parents and Young Children in Road Safety

This workshop for staff working in Early Childhood:

  • looks at why children are at risk in the traffic environment
  • unpacks the Smart Steps Kit
  • makes links to the Early Years Learning Framework and explores how to guide children to becoming safe road users
  • provides creative ideas on how to ensure student's wellbeing and safety
  • models strategies for working effectively and confidently with parents.

All participants will receive the new Smart Steps Presenters Kit including three Izzy story books. 
 

Time: Registration is from 11:45 am with lunch commencing at 12.00 pm.
         The workshop will begin at 12.30pm sharp and conclude by 3:00pm.

SDERA covers associated costs and contributes up to $350 towards teacher relief for each teacher who attends. Workshops are scheduled at various times throughout the year.
