Young children learn many important things before they start school for the first time. They bring to the classroom all the learning they have done at home, with their families and carers, from the time they were born.
Although not compulsory, Kindergarten is an important start to a child’s journey in school. Attendance is highly recommended as children learn important skills that will help them throughout school and life.
Pre-primary is the first year of compulsory schooling in Western Australia. Children will build the foundations for future years as they start to learn in more structured ways to prepare them for Year 1.
