Regional Support Services

Midwest School Psychology Service

Every Government school in the Midwest Education Region has access to the services of a School Psychologist. For further information regarding this service, please contact your local school.
This service provides a specialist psychological assessment, intervention and consultation service for schools. Services are provided:

  • For students, school staff, parents and inter-agency partners
  • At the individual, group, whole school and system levels
  • By School Psychologists who are governed by a professional registration process and a code of ethics

The School Psychology Service provides support in three main areas of Behaviour, Learning and Mental Health and Wellbeing.

The Professional Leader in the School Psychology oversees:

1. School Psychologists and psychology practice:

  • Monitors and supports the quality of psychological practices delivered to schools in collaboration with School Psychologists, Principals and the Coordinator Regional Services;
  • Monitors and supports School Psychologists with Professional Development, supervision, peer consultation, collaborative processes.

2. Direct services to schools, networks of schools and the Regional leadership team includes:

  • Supporting School Psychologists, schools and the Regional leadership team respond to complex cases and situations;
  • Supporting interagency partnerships that respond to the needs of school communities;
  • Supporting School Psychologists, schools and the Regional leadership team to coordinate effective responses to emergencies and critical incidents across the Region;
