The Women of Achievement Award recognises a woman who demonstrates outstanding leadership and contributions to education throughout their career with the Department.

The Award is an initiative under the Department of Education’s Equity and Diversity Management Plan 2015 -2019.

The Award ensures that schools and Department workplaces are provided with the opportunity to recognise the achievements of outstanding female employees who have made a significant contribution to public education in Western Australia.

Is there someone you know who:

  • stands out as exemplary in their role?
  • has made a significant contribution to public education?
  • has demonstrated exemplary leadership?
  • has significant professional achievements?
  • deserves recognition?

Over the years, the Women of Achievement Award has highlighted the professional contribution and dedication of many women across the Department.  These include: directors, principals, teachers, heads of learning area and managers corporate services.  Each nomination demonstrates an individual’s outstanding commitment to public education.

Please take the time to complete the nomination to recognise someone you know has made a contribution to public education.

Closing date 27 September 2019.

Eligibility requires the award recipient to be employed with the Department of Education at the time of the award ceremony.

Selection will be based on:

  • nominee’s achievements
  • what they do that is above and beyond the expectations of their role
  • demonstration of outstanding leadership
  • high level of personal integrity and professional standards
  • significant contribution to their team and community.

Please note:  The selection panel may choose to contact the nominator and nominee for additional information, and this may possibly include a brief site visit.
