About the facilitator

Chris Gostelow is the Manager of the Department of Education’s School Psychology Services.  He has extensive experience in supporting schools after critical incidents in both metropolitan and rural environments. His support for schools has ranged from schools affected by natural disasters (flood, cyclone and fire) to acts of violence and from suicide to community disasters.

Chris has written publications, presented workshops for school leaders, psychologists and other professionals.  He has studied critical incident management and suicide prevention for many years, completing a Churchill Fellowship on the topic in 1993.  In addition Chris has worked in the private sector with organisations affected by armed holdup and other critical incidents.  He has strong inter-agency connections in the emergency management area.  He brings a practical and experience-based approach to running training and likes an interactive style.
