Previous participants testimonials

"I would highly recommend this excellent course to other leaders; associate principals, principals and managers corporate services. Leadership teams can work together on the course and then bring their learning back into their own schools; essentially bringing educational leadership to life. The course challenges leaders to transfer their vision into practice, in each unique educational setting, to improve student outcomes. The support you get from the Deakin team is exceptional. The 'laser coaching' offered is unique, highly individualised and you feel constantly supported throughout the course. The assignments weren’t that difficult to write because you were able to reflect upon the practices used in your school, compare and contrast them to latest research, or like schools and suggest ways for improvement in your own school context. The course rigorously challenges your thinking, which is extremely refreshing, motivating and rewarding.”

Caroline Mason, Associate Principal, Rockingham Education Support Centre

“I haven’t studied for many years so it’s all new and it will be interesting to see how I go. After having been at a new school for three years, my principal identified this as a good opportunity and encouraged me to apply. I’m very grateful for this opportunity, so I will make the most if it. The facilities at the Institute are great. Deakin and their staff members have been amazing. It’s comforting and reassuring to know that they are there for you the whole way through.”

Megan Klompmaker, Manager Corporate Services, Harrisdale Primary School

“I highly recommend this course to all principals and MCS. Every unit has led to a change in practice because the assignments enable you to apply the theory to your situation in your school.”

Brendan Wallwork, Principal, Leeming Senior High School

“The learning is creating healthy, robust finance conversations that make it easier for the Board and staff to ask the critical questions that challenge us to make outcomes better for our students.  Staff are leading the way with ideas and solutions.

Ian Ralph, Principal, Koondoola Primary School

“This course has changed my relationship with my principal. We share ideas, discuss how to do them. All principals, deputies and MCS should do it. It adds so much value.”

Carol Scattini, School Officer, Koondoola Primary School
