The University of Western Australia’s  Master of Public Policy is designed specifically for current and future decision makers in the public sector.

Delivered jointly through UWA’s Political Science and Economics disciplines, the course currently offers specialisations in:

  • Public Administration and Governance
  • Economics

Both specialisations focus on building students’ abilities to strategically develop and evaluate public policies, with a particular emphasis on case studies and applications that are relevant for our students across a range of public institutions.

The Master of Public Policy is designed to give graduate students a multidisciplinary understanding of the role of the government in economic activity and public policy decision making. It focuses on how the government interacts with the economy and society, through for example, economic growth, stability, taxation, infrastructure provision, regulation, health, defence, education and social security.

The Masters Degree is by coursework or by coursework and dissertation and is available either full-time or part-time. This qualification is particularly relevant to Department of Education employees.

Download the Master of Public Policy brochure or view the course details to find out more. Intakes occur February and July each year.
