Verbal Judo for Leaders

About the program

Verbal judo is an invaluable life skill, and with practice, the principles and techniques not only enhance the participant’s ability to always perform professionally under pressure, but can assist them with developing their personal and professional relationships.

The two-day Verbal Judo for Leaders includes all of the Verbal Judo for Individuals content plus advanced material that will assist in the often difficult role of overseeing the performance of others. The program will show participants how to get the best from their team by the effective use of their professional presence and communication.

Learning intention

Verbal Judo for Leaders is tactical communication training for staff that redirects the behaviour of others with words that generate voluntary compliance. The program teaches how to treat people with respect, how to stay calm and professionally handle verbal resistance and abuse, and therefore reduce conflict. Implementing the skills and strategies in the workplace will increase the safety and professionalism of every encounter in the school environment.

By the end of this workshop participants will understand:

  • the goal of persuasion and professional discourse

  • the 'Tactical 8 Steps' - a professional and powerful introduction and interview process
