Performance Management for Principals and School Administrators

About the program

This one-day workshop aims to develop and enhance the knowledge and skills necessary for school leaders to undertake all aspects of the performance management process as it relates to teaching staff and with particular reference to addressing performance concerns.  It includes a focus on managing probationary employees and it explores some of the more common employee-related matters which impact on staff performance.

It is designed for principals and school administrators who are current line managers of teaching staff and have a basic working knowledge of the Department’s performance management process.  Please check the Institute website for other courses available specifically for managers corporate services and aspirant school leaders.

This course complements Introduction to Leadership Coaching, a two-day program offered by the Institute and delivered by Growth Coaching International. This combination will equip leaders with the skills and confidence to conduct highly effective performance development conversations, provide in the moment challenging feedback in a timely manner and, on occasions when an employee is demonstrating poor performance, know how to effectively address concerns within the context of the policy and industrial provisions.
