Peer Coaching: Positive Conversations About Teaching Practice

About the program

Peer Coaching: Positive Conversations About Teaching Practice provides an introduction to coaching and the GROWTH coaching model. Peer coaching is a learning conversation between two or more colleagues. This confidential process enables participants to reflect on current practice, share ideas, set professional goals, teach one another, build new skills and solve problems. The program comprises a 90-minute self-directed online component followed by a one-day face-to-face session.

The self-directed online component and Peer Observation Data Collection task will be issued three weeks before the face-to-face session to allow ample time for completion. Ideally, this is aimed at collaborative pairs/teams of teachers, school leaders and principals using a collection of school-based data. However, this is not essential.

Regional participants can complete the face-to-face component via the online WebEx platform. All that is needed is access to a device with microphone, speakers and camera, such as a PC or iPad, and an internet connection. When registering from a regional location, it is mandatory to register two participants from each school. Please contact Trish Mateljan on 9413 3320 or via email at patricia.mateljan@education.wa.edu.au prior to submitting a regional registration.
