Mindful Leaders Series I

About the program

The very popular and highly commended Mindful Leaders Program is now offered in a more flexible delivery mode, making it more accessible to school leaders. The Mindful Leaders Series I comprises 1.5 hour sessions over five consecutive weeks. Participants will be able to register for Mindful Leader Series I and then continue their learning with the optional Mindful Leaders Series II component at a later date.

The program introduces the concepts of mindfulness and mental effectiveness for school leaders and explores how simple but powerful mindfulness techniques can radically transform leadership capabilities. Specifically, mindfulness has been shown to increase focus, attention, awareness, empathy and compassion. It has also been proven to help reduce stress, improve sleep quality, and enhance overall sense of well-being.

Leveraging the latest scientific research Mindful Leaders Series I will explore four key mental strategies that introduce methods and tools to cultivate more helpful mind states, conducive to enhancing leadership performance and improving personal wellbeing. The series will include ways of integrating mindfulness to daily leadership activities and wellbeing to optimise personal performance. Series I will include practical tools to improve ways of working and communicating more mindfully and managing personal energy levels.

Formal mindfulness training is a fundamental and essential part of the program and Series I mindfulness training component is based on the first element that is required to develop a mindful and effective mind, focus training. Focus mindfulness training provides the mechanisms to shift from distraction to focused attention. Series I is a prerequisite to Series II.

Previous participant testimonials

"I found the platform worked well, was clear and didn’t diminish the experience at all.  I generally don’t like online learning or platforms like this but I enjoyed the experience and appreciated the convenience."
