Leadership WA Rising Leadership Program


About the program

Leadership WA exists to provide leadership development opportunities for leaders from the corporate, government and non-profit sectors. The Leadership WA Rising Leadership Program transforms new and emerging leaders into influencers who inspire and motivate others to achieve great things.

This is a six month program that inspires and transforms leaders, equipping them to influence and lead with confidence and authenticity.

The Department is offering one funded place in the Leadership WA Rising Leadership Program for 2017.

Applications are now closed

The cost of the program is $7 480.

The Department will fund $6 820 for one participant. The successful applicant is required to contribute $660 towards the course cost. This is a course requirement of Leadership WA.

 

Eligibility to apply for a Department funded place

Applications for a Department funded place in the 2017 program are open to:

  • Level 5 – 7 public service employees
  • those in a current leadership role in a school
  • Education Act employees in central and regional offices.


How to apply for a Department funded place

  • Complete a covering letter for the panel outlining your reason for applying and how you and the Department will benefit from your involvement in the program.
  • Download and complete the application form.
  • Email your completed application form and covering letter to the panel to martina.hughes@education.wa.edu.au.

If you are successful in being awarded the Department funded place, you will be required to apply directly to Leadership WA, and undergo their selection process. The Institute for Professional Learning will provide information on how to do this if you are the successful applicant.

 

Selection process

  • The Institute will convene a panel to assess applications against the stated eligibility requirements.
  • The decision of the selection panel is final.
  • Applicants will be notified in writing of the outcome of their application.
  • Applicants who are not successful in securing a funded place may enrol as self-funded students in the Leadership WA Rising Leadership Program.

Each experience runs from 8.30am to 5.00 pm and includes:

  • in-depth exploration of a key leadership focus
  • discussion of leadership examples currently topical within a Western Australian context
  • collaborative leadership action on community projects.
