Emerging Leader's Professional Learning

The Leadership Institute supports classroom teachers and teacher leaders to move into school leadership roles. Participants develop leadership potential and explore the opportunities to improve student performance.

Programs are designed to support emerging leaders to:

  • enhance the capability to lead high quality teaching and learning and contribute to whole school leadership
  • develop leadership potential in becoming an effective leader
  • share their expertise and lead others in areas such as classroom performance, curriculum implementation and resource development
  • lead small initiatives and improvement with clear accountability measures.

Explore: A Career in School Leadership Middle Leaders: Leading from Within Mental Health in the Workplace

    Comprises information session
    and two further sessions

Level 3 Classroom Teachers play an important role in school and system improvement. The Institute provides teachers aspiring to Level 3 Classroom Teacher status with support through a staged suite of professional learning offerings.

This program is for teachers and classroom leaders aspiring to the role of a school principal. It provides research-based evidence, professional readings and opportunities for participants to reflect on their current professional needs, and aligns to the Australian Professional Standard for Principals.

This program is designed to help emerging and middle leaders understand their role to support those managing them and those they manage. It focuses on developing an understanding of human nature within working relationships that will enable them to build relational trust and solve complex problems.

Facilitated by an organisational psychologist and a clinical psychologist, this program provides participants with the opportunity to engage in conversations about case studies and explore resources to ensure they can meet their obligations of providing a safe and high-care environment for all staff.
