Policies

The Department of Education is committed to developing strong and effective partnerships with Aboriginal Western Australians based on mutual respect, understanding, knowledge and respect for Aboriginal history, heritage and cultures.

Our public school system is committed to ensuring that every child is provided with a high quality school education. We aim to achieve the twin goals of excellence and equity.

Our vision:

  • Aboriginal students are confident and successful learners who complete their schooling with the knowledge and skills to access further education, training and employment.
  • All staff and students appreciate and respect Aboriginal history, heritage and cultures.

We continue to build into strategic, operational and school-based practices, support and development for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, staff and communities to increase educational and employment achievements.
