Use of Texts in Educational Settings

Use of Texts in Educational Settings guidelines provide advice about:

  • classroom use of a broad range of written, spoken or visual texts (in print, digital or multimodal formats);
  • relevant legal and Department policy requirements;
  • duty of care responsibilities;
  • controversial topics or content (student, parent and guardians’ rights and/or alternative text or study arrangements);
  • copyright considerations; and
  • classification categories (implications for using films, videos, publications and computer games in the classroom with students of different ages).
