Learning Disabilities Education Service

The Learning Disabilities Education Service (LDES) supports public schools throughout Western Australia by providing evidence based consultancy and effective, researched programs and interventions. The LDES offers this support in three ways:

  • The LDES works with schools to analyse literacy and numeracy data, current programs and teaching practice and utilises this information to design and create whole school improvement approaches to support Tier 3 students.
  • The LDES Consulting Teachers support staff to assist students who have experienced difficulties with their learning for at least two years and are ineligible for an individual disability allocation.
  • The LDES provides school, network and statewide professional learning opportunities for all schools developed in response to national policies, reports and current educational research.
