Disability High Support Education Service

The Disabilities High Support Education Service (DHSES) provides specialist consultancy and intensive support to schools for students with disabilities who require complex adjustments to access the curriculum. These students may include those with significant intellectual, physical or multiple disabilities with possible sensory impairments; physical disabilities or medical conditions with associated curriculum access requirements. The service manages the provision of daily living and specialised equipment (hoists, change tables and wheelchairs) to all WA public schools, including Education Support Centres. The service maintains close links to external agencies and providers of specialist equipment to schools. Services are accessed through Consulting Teachers (Disability) in regional based teams. The service is an accredited provider of Team Teach training for schools.
