Classroom observation: Train the trainer course

About the program

The Classroom observation: Train the trainer course provides school-based facilitators with the training and resources required to deliver the one-day Classroom Observation Program. Trainers are equipped to deliver the program in their schools or networks for staff supporting the peer observation of graduate teachers. The program focuses on establishing an effective culture of self-reflection and peer feedback.

Learning intentions

By the end of this program, it is intended that participants will:

  • understand the processes and protocols required to build effective self and peer assessment practices
  • have built their capacity to facilitate professional learning for adult learners
  • be able to deliver the one day Classroom Observation program.

Target audience

Whole schools wishing to set up or reinvigorate classroom observation practices among their staff. 

About the facilitators 

The workshop will be delivered by one of the Department's Teaching and Learning Team consultants. This team is comprised of graduate teacher coaches and program facilitators and coordinators.
