Philosophy and Ethos

The school responded to the invitation to participate in the TravelSmart to School program because it offered the opportunity for student empowerment through positive action in response to environment issues and challenges.

Our motivation was brought about by a concern for students and how they can process and respond to the news of such grim environmental degradation. Not only were we concerned about the natural environment but concerned for our students emotional health. The community at St Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School believe it is important for students and the staff to respond strongly and positively to the complex environmental challenges we are facing.
