Sustainability Action Planning

The School’s Staff Executive and Board of Governors have confirmed their strong commitment to a whole school approach towards Education for Sustainability (EfS).

An increased commitment to environmental issues was highlighted in the School’s new Strategic Plan (2004). This has been built upon with the formation of the Sustainable Development Committee (SDC) at the start of 2006, coordinated by a Society and Environment staff member. The School archivist and marketing and community relations manager are also on the committee and it is expected that this committee will grow over time.

The committee’s initial goals include promoting sustainability within the School, raising awareness of the Sustainable Schools Initiative and using major projects such as the Worsley Alumina Schools Energy Project as a launching-pad for such promotion.
