Teaching and Learning

Our school has been more broadly involved in Education for Sustainability (EfS) since 2005 when we applied to become part of the Sustainable Schools Initiative WA.

A collaborative, student-centred approach to teaching and learning is central to school-based EfS activity.

Professional Development

Staff have received Professional Development (PD) through the Department of Environment and Conservation’s (DEC’s) Waste Wise Schools Program (waste management & recycling), and we have also had staff and student workshops in Worm Farming.

There has also been PD from DEC linked to the Society and Environment Learning Area and further PD is planned through the Hills Forest Education Centre to learn more about sustainable practices in relation to our bushland environment.
