Moerlina School

Philosophy and Ethos

Moerlina’s vision was developed collaboratively by the school community. The school values individuality and respect for self and others, community cooperation and parental involvement, and strives towards optimum education outcomes for all students, supported in a safe and joyful learning environment.

Moerlina fosters non-competitive learning where students encourage, recognise and draw upon each other’s strengths and individual differences. This philosophy was a key ingredient when students worked collaboratively to produce their PALS DVD.

The school also uses models such as ‘Emotional Intelligence’ and ‘Rock and Water’ to support self-awareness, self-respect and personal strategies in cooperating with others.
