Christian religious education (CRE) program

The CRE program is an SRE program that is delivered by YouthCARE WA.  All students are welcome, regardless of their religious or cultural backgrounds.  Lessons are usually for 30 minutes and have been developed in age-appropriate formats.  The Department has approved the curriculum and recognises YouthCARE WA as the provider and trainer of its volunteers.  The volunteers, who are trained and accredited by experienced classroom teachers, work separately to chaplains and are taught to be respectful of the diverse cultural and religious backgrounds of the children they teach.

CRE links with the Western Australian curriculum

The Western Australian (WA) CRE curriculum links directly with the Civics and Citizenship curriculum, as well as the core values and General Capabilities of the Western Australian Curriculum, including Ethical Understandings (concepts and issues), and Personal and Social Capability (self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and social management).
