The Australian Curriculum is being developed progressively. The Foundation to Year 10 Australian Curriculum for English, mathematics, science and history is now available. This includes curriculum content supported with elaborations; and achievement standards supported with work samples. The achievement standards will be subject to validation in 2011.
The Australian Curriculum Assessment Reporting Authority (ACARA) will commence the development of the Australian Curriculum Phase 3 Technologies Learning Area in 2011.
Mapping the Australian Curriculum is a new online resource which will help teachers identify areas they may choose to focus on as they become familiar with the Australian Curriculum for English, mathematics, science and history. This advisory support resource provides an overview of each Australian Curriculum area and makes clear the key differences between the K-10 Syllabus and the content (descriptions) of the new curriculum.
