Aid for Sickness and Accidents in Schools policy outlines the expected actions of school staff to ensure that first
aid can be provided to any student, member of staff or visitor during any school activity. Principals have a responsibility
to ensure that first aid plans are developed and first aid can be can be provided to any student, member of staff or visitor
during any school activity, either on or off the school grounds.
In addition, the HIV-AIDS and Hepatitis policy is to assist Departmental schools and workplaces to develop practices that prevent or minimise the spread of HIV and hepatitis. The policy is directed at employees rather than students but requires employees to inform students of specific matters relating to the prevention, transmission and reporting of hepatitis and HIV.
