The National Quality Standard (NQS) sets a national benchmark for quality in education and care services across Australia and establishes a set of Standards that all service types are expected to meet.  The Guide to the National Quality Standard is used by schools to reflect on how they are meeting the NQS in early childhood programs, Kindergarten to Year 2.  Hard copies of this document will be available in public schools mid Term 1 2018.

Schools seeking to create or add to existing playgrounds should refer to the Department's Guide to Playground Equipment Installation and Supply, which is accessible through the Contracting/Purchasing Arrangements for School Resources and Facilities.

This Guideline will assist schools using the optional Kindergarten Reporting Template.  Administrator and Teacher Guides are available through the Reporting to Parents tab via the Portal.

The Early Childhood (K-2) Operational Handbook has been prepared by the Office of Early Childhood Development and Learning (OECDL) to assist schools to access key administrative and policy information relevant to the early years of schooling (Kindergarten to Year 2).

The Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines  support educators to plan curriculum which will assist learners to develop general capabilities that encompass the knowledge, skills, attitudes and dispositions that support learners in the 21st century.
