EAL/D Progress Map Writing exemplars

The  Writing exemplars demonstrate what students know, understand and are able to do in relation to the levels of the EAL/D Progress Map.

In practice, when allocating a level, teachers draw upon evidence from a much wider range of information than that obtained in a single test or task. Please note, these samples reflect only a small component of the content taught and assessed within the classroom.

The samples have been developed to assist teachers in making fair and consistent judgements regarding students' Standard Australian English language acquisition level as outlined in the EAL/D Progress Map.
