Asia Education Foundation

The Asia Education Foundation (AEF) is a joint activity of Asialink at the University of Melbourne and Education Services Australia. Established in 1992, the Foundation advocates for and supports Asia literacy in Australian schools.

The organisation works with schools, state/territory government and non-government education agencies and institutions, philanthropic foundations and the corporate sector to achieve the following objectives:

  • Provide support for the implementation of the Australian Curriculm with a focus on the general capabilities and the cross curriculum priority of Asia and Australia's engagement with Asia.
  • Promotion and support of the study of Asia across all curriculum areas.
  • Development of Asia-related print and electronic materials.
  • Promotion of the study of Asia and Asian languages through Professional Learning.
  • Education of the broader community about the importance of young Australians engaging with Asia.

The AEF website contains extensive resources for school leaders, teachers and students, including professional learning opportunities and access to recent publications and initiatives.
