Entry and Orientation Program

If you are a teacher with previous experience but have not taught in an Australian school in the past five years, you have the opportunity to access to the Entry and Orientation Program.

The Institute for Professional Learning coordinates this non-mandatory program.

To participate, you need to be registered with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA).

The program includes two days of professional learning and support where experienced presenters will guide you through a range of topics, including:

  • overview of the Department
  • how to gain employment
  • effective practice in classroom management, instruction strategies and skills
  • curriculum overview and Department resources
  • cultural orientation, including strategies to support Aboriginal students.

This program is recognised by TRBWA as relevant professional learning towards re-registration.
