Policies

The Culture Strong, Career Proud: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment Action Plan 2011-2014 aims to increase the representation of Aboriginal people in the Department of Education.
All policies are available on the Department of Education Policies website.

Activities regarding policies

These exercises are aimed at familiarising the AIEO with important policies and guidelines.

  1. An AIEO is asked to visit a family regarding the absenteeism of a child.

  2. An AIEO plans an excursion with a teacher.

  3. An AIEO is asked to participate in developing an individual behaviour management plan for a student at risk.

  4. An AIEO is asked to attend a meeting with the classroom teacher and principal to address bullying amongst students.

    Read Behaviour Management in Schools; Preventing and Managing Bullying, Bullying No Way and Racism No Way.  These websites provide help for students, parents and teachers and includes resources, legislation and policies pertaining to racism and harassment.
