Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework

What does the framework mean for schools?

The framework supports staff to incorporate the cultural standards into their school leadership, planning, curriculum and teaching to make their practices more responsive to the needs of Aboriginal students.

The framework is about creating a whole-school environment that supports Aboriginal students and Aboriginal perspectives – even when there are few or no Aboriginal students enrolled at a school.

It is intended to encourage all staff to create that environment across the school – front office, school grounds, classrooms and staffrooms. It is an approach to incorporating culturally responsive behaviours, attitudes and values into everyone’s work.
