Despite enormous effort and investment, the educational achievement gap between Aboriginal students and their non-Aboriginal peers remains wide.
We have a long record of raising awareness about Aboriginal histories, cultures and languages. It is time to translate this awareness into culturally responsive actions. This will take deliberate and concerted effort.
It is expected that engagement with the framework and improved cultural responsiveness will ensure that Aboriginal students are confident and successful learners who complete their schooling with the knowledge and skills to access further education, training and employment.
