How to locate resources on this site

The APAC site comprises the following main sections.

Teaching Aboriginal students

Guidelines (topics include health, culture, terminology, inclusion and classroom management) and sources of advice to help teachers become sensitive to the particular needs of Aboriginal students. Cultural understanding is of utmost importance in working with Aboriginal students.

Dare To Lead

Contact and background details for the Dare To Lead project that helps schools to improve the educational outcomes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

Lesson plans

Download more than 150 free lesson plans that have been developed to help teachers bring an Indigenous context into their classrooms.

General resources

Information about hundreds of useful educational resources including books, videos, websites, organizations and PDF documents.

Mind maps

Links to Mindmaps (planning tools) showing the connection between ideas and thoughts associated with a topic (e.g. bush foods, environment, shelter) or Learning Area (e.g. arts, LOTE, science).
